Coast to Coast Walking Route
The Southern Upland Way is Scotland’s only official coast-to-coast long distance route. It runs across the country from from Port Patrick on the west coast to Cove and Cockburnspath in the east at a distance of 341 kilometres, taking up to two weeks to complete.
The Southern Uplands make up the southernmost part of Scotland, a truly beautiful part of the country and ideal for those who love the outdoors. What we love about the route is the challenege it brings. Whether you tackle the whole route over a well planned itineray or just one section in a day you will be offered superb views, varied landscapes , local history and nature in all forms come to life in front of your eyes.

If you want interesting places to stay including locally owned B&Bs or a stay in fabulously restored Bothys… this route has you covered. If you want to see views of the Irish Sea, Scotlands Highest Village and the home of Sir Walter Scott… the route has you covered. Babbling brooks, livestock in their element and welcoming locals who’ll encourage your every step… this route has you covered. (Can you tell we love what this route has to offer?)
