The responsibilities of DG Outdoor Access Trust are increasing due in the main to the universal Local Authority Budget constraints but at 2 years old a developing portfolio of actions. If that is of interest to you to you as someone who enjoys Dumfries and Galloway’s outdoor assets, please take time to read this newsletter and consider what you can do to help the Trust in whatever way you can.

The Trust’s AGM will be held on 3rd December 2019 at 1.30 pm in Castle Doulas Public Hall to which you are cordially invited. Please RSVP to me: [email protected].
Due to the increasing activity we are looking for additional people to join the Trust as Trustees. We are looking for people with an enthusiasm for walking, horse- riding, cycling, water sports and ideally your experience of your local area to bring to the group. It is not an onerous obligation: 4 meetings a year, some background reading, and contributing to sustaining a £14m investment in Dumfries and Galloway’s countryside. DG Outdoor Access Trust are delighted to have received funding from Dumfries and Galloway LEADER Programme to undertake in collaboration with Rhins of Galloway Coast Path Steering Group a study tours of Similar Coastal Paths in the Vale of Glamorgan and Kerry formulate a Sustainability Plan to maximise the opportunities the path offers.
Dumfries and Galloway Outdoor Access Forum is the statuary group to assist the Access Authority (D&G Council) by overseeing The Core Path Plan. It too, is looking to add to its number. It comprises a balanced mix of access- takers and land managers and meets 4 times a year. If interested get in touch for more information: [email protected].
